About three weeks ago, the first horrific crimes were discovered, suddenly breaking the silence of the surrounding area. Incidents that had already begun around school buildings in late May now appeared to be intensifying. The city administration reacted immediately and offered a reward of 1,000 euros for information that could lead to the investigation of these heinous acts. Do the perpetrators get away with impunity? Sensational amount of damage?
The estimated damage to the felled quince tree, which was allowed to bloom for over a decade, amounts to an incredible 2,500 euros! The total damage could reach the alarming mark of 40,000 euros. Eight to ten trees were lost in this devastating whirlpool, some only damaged, others felled mercilessly! This all happened at the power-hungry hands of self-proclaimed destroyers who trampled on Fellbach's green heritage.
“We promote biodiversity by planting fruit trees,” explains Seibold, stunned, while the city administration guards the crime scene with police cordons. The hope for enlightenment remains, while Seibold desperately strives to replant the felled trees as soon as the opportunity allows.
