INCREDIBLE adventure in the heart of Vorarlberg! Today, August 13, 2025, almost 40 courageous altar boys from St. Martin set out on a breathtaking adventure that could go down in the annals of leisure history! These intrepid explorers set out to unravel the secrets of the ecological wonders of the Örflaschlucht, a place full of surprises and thrills.
The young group of explorers daringly crossed stereotypical stream beds and ventured into a narrow cave - only accessible to the youngest and narrowest, almost like a secret hiding place waiting to be discovered! The enthusiastic team hardly got tired because after the strenuous hike, a refreshing picnic was waiting for them at the Kneipp facility in St. Arbogast. With mid-summer temperatures that made even the most spirited of little adventurers sweat, refreshment was an absolute must!
A spectacular program!
However, the adventure didn't stop there! After the sweaty picnic, the minis went on the sensational summer toboggan run in Innerlaterns. What a thrill! The day was rounded off with a very moving visit to the old Capuchin monastery in Feldkirch, where boredom was impossible from the first moment! So two brave brothers opened the monastery's cloister and proudly showed the impressive library with baroque books - a true treasure trove of history!
Did you know that St. Fidelis von Sigmaringen, who fell in the religious war, has an important connection to this historical place? During a moving blessing in the monastery church, a dramatic turnaround occurred: While the altar boys waited silently for the moving words in anticipation of the blessing, the first powerful thunder suddenly sounded! It seemed as if heaven itself wanted to recognize the courage of the little believers! And so this huge clap of thunder announced a downpour, which, however, did not in the least dampen the excellent atmosphere and the celebratory moment!
An educational shock for the little ones!
But that's not all - next year Neustift Monastery will be exciting in a completely new way! A MEGA children's book about the monastery, published in May 2024, aims to make knowledge about monastery life, art and business exciting for even the youngest! Prelate Eduard Filehner will present the book, which required months of meticulous preparation and research!
The talented writer Evi Gasser, known for her captivating illustrations, has created a masterpiece with vivid images! On 56 pages, children aged eight and over learn in the most exciting way what it means to live in a monastery. Priced at just 12.50 euros, it will be available in German and Italian - not only in bookstores, but also in the Neustift Monastery museum shop!
