After successfully remaining in the Bundesliga, 1. FC Heidenheim has planned intensive summer preparation. How stern.de reports, coach Frank Schmidt will start preparing for the third Bundesliga season in a row on July 1st. The first week includes performance diagnostics, sports medical examinations and photo shoots.
The first public training will take place on Saturday, July 5th at 4 p.m. in the Walter Birkhold Youth Stadium. The team will play its first friendly match a day later, on July 6th, followed by a second friendly match on July 9th against amateur clubs.
Training camps and test matches
To ensure optimal preparation, the FCH is planning two training camps. The first will take place from July 11th to 19th in Natz/Schabs, South Tyrol. The team will be accommodated there in the Hotel Jonathan. During this period, one or two test games and a fan festival are planned on July 16th on the market square in Natz.
The second training camp is planned for the period from July 30th to August 3rd in Austria. One or two test games are also planned here. A tough test against FC Ingolstadt 04 will take place on July 26th in order to optimally prepare the team for the upcoming season.
Important dates
A highlight of the preparation is the FCH street festival, which will be celebrated on August 8th in Heidenheim city center. Just one day later, on August 9th, the Max Lovers' Cup is scheduled to open the season in the Voith Arena. Before the cup game, grass renovation work in the arena is planned.
The start of the competitive game in the DFB Cup is scheduled for August 15th and 18th. The draw for this first round will take place on June 15th. The starting signal for the 2025/26 Bundesliga season will finally be given between August 22nd and 24th, although the final schedule publication by the DFL is still pending.
1. FC Heidenheim is well prepared for the challenges of the new season and preparations are in full swing. It will be exciting to see how the team under Frank Schmidt will perform in the coming season.
