Police beat gang of thieves in Gärtringen: Young men arrested!
Early on Sunday morning, June 16, 2025, the police department in Gärtringen was alerted by a call from a resident. A citizen noticed a flashlight coming from a residential building on Wilhelmstrasse around 3:50 a.m. and immediately called the police. The arriving patrol car crew discovered two cars and several people in a nearby parking lot.
A second patrol crew discovered that a window of the house was open, but no one was there. In the course of further investigations, six young men between the ages of 17 and 22 were checked, all of whom are suspected of being involved in the burglary. In the suspects' vehicles, officers found items such as pictures and porcelain that presumably came from the home. The six men were then temporarily arrested for particularly serious theft and taken to the Herrenberg police station.
Direct arrest and police action
After carrying out the necessary police measures, the suspects were released. The value of the stolen goods is currently unknown; the investigation is ongoing and is focusing on the exact circumstances of the break-in and the origin of the stolen items. These measures are part of the police's ongoing efforts to ensure security in the region, as the case of the burglary in Herrenberg shows.
In another incident last year, on November 19, 2024, four men aged 22, 23, 26 and 31 were suspected of stealing a safe weighing several hundred kilos from a company building on “Plapphalde” street in Herrenberg. The police became aware of the suspects through a witness tip and were able to arrest them on the evening of November 20, 2024 when they tried to forcibly open the stolen safe in a warehouse.
At the request of the Stuttgart public prosecutor's office, the men were brought before a judge at the Stuttgart district court on November 21, 2024. An arrest warrant for gang theft was issued for the 22-, 26- and 31-year-olds and they were booked into a correctional facility. The 23-year-old, however, was released on conditions. News.de as well as Press portal report on the investigations by the criminal police, who are also keeping an eye on possible further thefts by the men.
