SENSATIONAL NEW BUILDING: Ludwigsburg's district heating plan brings big changes!
In a true revolution in heat supply, the era of district heating is beginning in Ludwigsburg! Stadtwerke Ludwigsburg-Kornwestheim (SWLB), which is the driving force behind this sensational change, recently presented its ambitious transformation program that aims to warm the entire region for the future. Bietigheimer Zeitung reports that there are already concrete plans for two areas of the city, while two others are already being worked on at full speed. But that's not all!
A brand new, interactive website has just been launched to captivate citizens with the warming transformation! This website is more than just informative - it contains a map that visualizes the existing and planned district heating networks. Shockingly, users can even set non-binding markers - a feature that has already been enthusiastically adopted in many parts of the city! The map impressively shows that the current district heating network already covers an astonishing 80 kilometers and supplies an impressive 1,683 households. However, as frightening as it may be, this network only covers around 12% of the city's total heating needs!
The WAR ACTIONS over the heat supply
“Citizens must prepare for a future without fossil fuels!” the municipal utilities can be heard shouting. The current status is alarming: a total of 100 gigawatt hours of heat are currently being supplied, and that in the city center alone. But the municipal utilities are doing everything they can to advance the expansion and prepare the people of Ludwigsburg for the future. The transformation plans are not frivolous mind games, but should define concrete measures, time horizons and the necessary resources. We are working seriously here on a sustainable solution that is unprecedented not only locally, but even in the whole of Germany!
But that's not all: the Ludwigsburg-Bietigheim municipal utilities have initiated ambitious feasibility studies in order to adequately modernize the existing heating systems! The aim is to supply the networks entirely with eligible renewable heat sources. And that will be crucial for the future heat supply in the region! This transformation is essential because, as Stadtwerke Münster discovers with its impressive strategy for climate-friendly heat supply: the heating sector is responsible for around 50% of final energy consumption. Stadtwerke Münster has already proven that switching to renewable energy sources is of utmost importance.
The dramatic plans for the future
The time for change has come in Ludwigsburg! Citizens are invited to take part in this historic development. The interactive map on the new website leaves no room for excuses and impressively shows where district heating already exists and where it will come in the coming years.
- Rote Linien: bestehende Fernwärmenetze
- Blaue Linien: Ausbau im laufenden Jahr
- Orange Flächen: Ausbaupläne für 2026 bis 2029
- Blaue Flächen: noch nicht terminierter Ausbau
It is a unique opportunity to be part of this transformation and at the same time to put the municipality's entire heating needs on a climate-friendly and future-oriented basis! Switching to district heating is not just a trend, but a necessity! Ludwigsburg is preparing for an exciting, hot future - and citizens are cordially invited to join the journey!
