Sabrina Lee: New Mayor for Pleidelsheim – A new beginning!

On June 1, 2025, Sabrina Lee was elected as the new mayor of Pleidelsheim. With 54.6% of the votes, which corresponds to 1,445 votes, she prevailed against her competitors Georg Zimmer and Frank Wohlfahrt. Zimmer received 1,019 votes, while Wohlfahrt only managed 179 votes. The election took place in the first round, which was seen as a great success for the independent candidate and the voter turnout was over 50%. The mayoral election was organized in an intensive campaign characterized by personal discussions and numerous events.

The previous mayor Ralf Trettner, who did not run for re-election after 24 years in office, announced his retirement to make way for new impulses. Trettner was originally elected in 2001 with 54% of the vote and led the community for two decades. Mayor Martin Bernhard from Tamm congratulated Lee on her election and wished her all the best in her new position, while Trettner expressed his satisfaction with the election result. He compared Lee's success to his own first election result, which seemed to him to be a good omen for the future.

Election campaign and priorities

The three candidates' election campaign was characterized by numerous visits to clubs, door-to-door conversations and information stands designed to reach citizens directly and hear their concerns. An outstanding event was the visit to the traditional fishing festival on the school grounds on Ascension Day. During the official presentation in the sports hall in front of more than 700 guests, each applicant presented their goals and visions for the community.

During the election campaign, Sabrina Lee emphasized the importance of a vibrant economy for the community and named economic development as one of her most important tasks. She agreed to take on responsibility and received the appropriate order from the citizens to do so. The topics addressed during the election campaign included local supplies, the economy, finance and affordable housing.

Now it is up to Lee to address the diverse challenges and meet the expectations set by the citizenry. Her positive response from voters, who thanked her for her victory, gives her support for the tasks ahead.
