TSG Backnang: Triumph in the top league – coach Marinic is thrilled!
TSG Backnang has made a remarkable turnaround in the top football league. Five months ago the team was in a critical situation and threatened to be relegated to the association league. Injuries, poor performances and uncertain preparation had taken a toll on the team. But the turning point came when coach Mario Marinic took over. He stabilized the team and ensured positive development, which was clearly reflected in the second half of the season. Loud ZVW TSG is now the third best second half team in the league.
In the most recent game against Oberachern, the players showed their potential and won the game 1-0. Coach Marinic praised the team for their performance, which demonstrated both footballing quality and a strong mentality. “We implemented the instructions well and controlled the game before half-time,” he reported. Despite several clear chances to score in the second half, the result could have been higher, which Marinic noted somewhat critically. Nevertheless, he reiterated that the deserved victory and complete control put the team on the right course.
Upward trend and seasonal goals
With the win against Oberachern, TSG Backnang has now collected 49 points and has thus consolidated its position in the upper midfield of the table, currently in 7th or 8th place. “We want to gain one or two places in the last two games of the season, and the next step is to win in Ravensburg too,” explained Marinic. One goal is to reach the 50-point mark, which is considered outstanding in the major league. This development in the second half of the season is anything but self-evident, as is the sports portal FuPa highlights.
The personnel situation seems to be becoming more stable; In the current season, the team has played well with four changes to the starting eleven. This not only shows the breadth of the team, but also the ability to adapt to different game situations. The positive development is clearly noticeable and is reflected in both the results and the team's self-confidence.
Overall, coach Mario Marinic draws a positive interim conclusion about the second half of the season. The footballing class and team spirit shown in the last few games give hope that TSG will also be successful in the coming games and can therefore achieve a remarkable final result this season.
