SCANDAL! B14-Baustelle bei Backnang: Arbeiten dauern viel länger!

INCREDIBLE! One of the region's most important construction sites - the B14 near Backnang - will turn into a real NIGHTMARE for commuters! According to information from ZVW Construction work in section “2.3 Railway Bridges” has been ongoing since March 21, 2025. But instead of being completed by the end of May as planned, completion has now been pushed back to the END OF JULY - due to SHOCKING rock discoveries!

The construction company's construction workers were confronted with an unexpected rock during their excavation work, which threw all plans into disarray. The schedule has been adjusted à la “pure chaos”, and those responsible warn: Traffic will be regulated by a traffic light on Erbstetter Straße - this will be a real test of patience for commuters and drivers!

The STACKING of problems!

From mid-July 2025, the B14 between Leutenbach-Nellmersbach and Backnang-West will be PARTIALLY CLOSED, as is the case Stuttgart News report! Construction phase 2.3, which includes the development of a new TWIN BRIDGE for the Murrtal Viaduct, will be a THRILL for all drivers. A gigantic area of 25,000 square meters has already been prepared - that's 2,000,000 cubic meters of earth that had to be moved!

But the real horrors are yet to come! From July 17th, the entrance and exit ramp of the B14 from Schwäbisch Hall towards Stuttgart will be CLOSED - until July 23rd! Commuters will face NOTICEABLE delays during peak hours and the diversions will push every driver to the limits of their patience.

COSTS that are getting out of control!

The construction costs for section 2.3 are estimated at an incredible 52 MILLION EURO - and that could be just the beginning! Many contracts have not yet been awarded and technical challenges in recycling the excavated material could drive up costs even further. Uncertainty about soil type, texture and chemical values is an additional factor that could derail construction work.

But as we all know, hope dies last! The long-awaited expansion of the B14 should at some point improve traffic conditions and give us wider bridges and better connections. A “Traffic Info BW” app is intended to keep commuters up to date - but will drivers really have to wait until the bridges are completed at the end of 2026? That remains to be seen! Will you be willing to take on these traffic infernos?

PLEASE hold your breath and exercise patience because the WHY behind all these delays is also a part of the painful reality of every commuter in the region!
