SHOCK in the Rems-Murr district: New Corona variant Nimbus is emerging!
The corona pandemic remains a STORMY TOPIC, and the situation in the Rems-Murr district will continue to simmer in July 2025! Incredible developments are shaking the region as people wait impatiently for the latest figures. SHOCKING but true: The current RKI data for July 11th was not published due to unforeseeable delays. A single, worrying signal in the midst of a time when the world is on the threshold of normality.
In the last seven days, the Rems-Murr district only registered one NEW CASE. Yes, you read that right! The 7-day incidence is a shocking 0.2 per 100,000 inhabitants! Contrary to all hopes, the situation remains fragile. And although the region's intensive care beds are mostly empty - currently 38 of 58 beds are occupied and THANK GOD: no COVID patients in the intensive care unit - the uncertainty is omnipresent!
Under the radar: infection numbers and vaccination rates
The corona infection numbers across Baden-Württemberg are nothing short of impressive when you look at the massive overall rates: Over 5.1 million positive tests since the start of the pandemic! The 35-59 age group has reached the sad peak with a SHOCKING 1,970,707 cases. And if you thought older generations were the hardest hit, look at 0-4 year olds - they weren't spared either, with 141,335 cases!

But despite these dramatic numbers, there is a ray of hope: the vaccination rate in Germany is showing a remarkable increase! Over 76% of the total population has already received a vaccination, according to the shocking but necessary records from the [RKI](https://www.rki.de/DE/Themen/Infection Diseases/Impfen/Impfquoten/VacMap/vacmap.html). However, a worrying gap remains: only 13.10% have been boosted twice, raising questions about the future vaccination strategy.
The new horror: The Corona variant Nimbus
There is also the new Corona variant NIMBUS! This variant, which was discovered in January 2025 as a variation of the Omicron variant, was classified as a “variant under observation” by the WHO in May 2025. THERE IS ACUTE CONCERN! Although there is no evidence of more severe disease progression, healthy DISTRUST remains. The world is staring intently at these developments while the vaccination situation remains under observation!
