New MVZ in Backnang: pediatric medical care guaranteed!
The future of pediatric care in Backnang is facing a new beginning. Pediatrician Sabina Delic-Bikic will close her practice at the end of July. During her time she treated around 3,000 children, but the departure also means that a checkout seat could be lost. In order to counteract this loss, a new medical care center (MVZ) for child and adolescent medicine was created in Backnang. This will open its doors on October 1, 2025 and will be led by the experienced specialist Marina Stepanyan, as ZVW reports.
The founding of the MVZ is the result of a collaboration between the Rems-Murr clinics and the Rems-Murr district. District Administrator Dr. Richard Sigel emphasized the importance of establishing this care center in order to close a looming gap in pediatric care locally. There are currently a total of 30 pediatric practices in the region, only two of which are in Backnang. Commitment and cooperation for the future
Marina Stepanyan, who previously worked in Fellbach, will work full-time at the MVZ Backnang and contribute her expertise to the care of young patients there. The new center is the third of its kind in the district since 2023 and will be housed in the rooms of the previous statutory health insurance emergency practice in the health center. The goal is close cooperation with the children's clinic at the Winnenden Clinic.
Mayor Maximilian Friedrich emphasizes the importance of inter-municipal cooperation, which is evident here, in order to meet the challenges of medical care. District Administrator Sigel also has a vision for the future and expresses the desire for further emergency care projects, which, however, have not yet been approved by the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians.
