Already from 6 a.m. the accidents and breakdowns on the B14 increased. At 6:40 a.m., a breakdown vehicle on the divider between B14 and B29 was reported, which could only be towed around 8:25 a.m. Further incidents contributed to the difficult traffic situation, including two rear -end collisions in the Kappelberg tunnel, in which a total of seven vehicles were involved.
