Cornelia Murr surprises with new singles and tour start in Nashville!
Singer/songwriter Cornelia Murr today unveiled her new project: a B-Sides release that includes the two singles “Treaty” and “Gotta Give.” These new tracks are early works by Murr that have not previously been heard in any collection. Loud Northern Transmissions The songs were created during the recording of their last album “Run to the Center”, but they feel independent. Murr describes these pieces as “little outsiders” that are finally seeing the light of day.
In the midst of this release, Murr starts an accompanying tour. Her tour with Matt Maltese began on September 16, 2025 in Nashville, TN and will end on November 5, 2025 in Tampa, FL. Important tour dates include September 29th in Brooklyn, NY and October 24th at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, CA. Additional tour stops include cities such as Atlanta, Charlotte and Chicago, extending into early November.
The creative background
The album's title, "Run to the Center," refers to Red Cloud, Nebraska, where Murr lived and restored an abandoned house. Murr once again worked with her long-time collaborator Luc Temple on this album, which perfectly optimizes her already established style and features unpredictable song structures. Musical elements such as the bullfrog intro, strings, brass and playful keyboards give the songs a special touch, while the lyrics address philosophical reflections on life and love.
Her debut album, Lake Tear of the Clouds, was released in 2018 with producer Jim James of My Morning Jacket. This album was heavily influenced by the Hudson Valley region of New York and conveyed through personal experiences and the search for self-knowledge. Murr's voice is described as flowing and impressive, and labels such as folk and cosmic soul characterize her musical style. In a further step of self-realization, she released the self-produced EP “Corridor” in 2022.
