DHL parcel prices are rising! This is how expensive shipping will be from now on!
Deutsche Post DHL has recently increased the prices for certain parcel services. While domestic parcel shipping remains largely unchanged, two specific products are particularly affected. The plus package will now cost 8.19 euros, which corresponds to an increase of 1.20 euros. The price increase is even more drastic when shipping a roll that is used for posters. The price increases from 1.99 euros to 3.99 euros – doubling the original price. These changes were reported by the Bietigheimer Zeitung and will affect users accordingly.
According to DHL, shipping via Packstations remains popular. However, shipping through these self-service stations requires prepaid shipments, making preparation important for customers. The minimum dimensions for packages are 15 x 11 x 1 cm, while the maximum dimensions cannot exceed 75 x 60 x 40 cm. Several brands are available for shipping, including the DHL parcel brand and the parcel brand.
Packing station and shipping labels
To make the Packstation easier to use, shipping labels can be purchased through various channels. These include DHL online franking, the Post & DHL app and the Deutsche Post shops. Particularly practical: Users who buy their shipping labels online with a QR code can print the parcel label directly at the packing station.

At packing stations that do not have a printer, users can scan the QR code of the mobile parcel stamp and insert the shipment without a shipping label. At app-controlled packing stations, delivery is supported by entering a PAK-ID or RET-ID via the app, whereby the label is printed when the delivery person picks up the package.
Excluded shipments
It is important to note that not all shipments can be sent via Packstations. Excluded are:
- Warensendungen
- Groß- oder Maxibriefe
- Express-Sendungen
- Sendungen mit Transportversicherung
DHL's measures, such as the price increase for the plus package and the roll, are part of the continuous adjustments and optimizations in the company's service offering. These increases may cause some customers to reconsider their shipping habits or seek alternatives.
