Complete closure in Sachsenheim: risk of traffic jams until the end of October!

In Sachsenheim, Baden-Württemberg, there have been significant traffic restrictions since October 12, 2025. The reason for this is the comprehensive renovation of the roadway, which will last until October 27, 2025. Oberriexinger Straße will be completely closed for the entire duration of the construction work, which can lead to an increased risk of traffic delays and temporary traffic jams. The affected stretch of 1.2 km lies between Breuninger Straße and Carrerastraße and makes the L 1125 an important junction for traffic in the region. The full closure came into effect at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday and will end at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27th
news.de reported.

There are two main options available for rerouting traffic. The first option takes you via Vaihinger Straße, Großsachsenheimer Straße, Sersheimer Straße, Hauptstraße and Ludwigsburger Straße, which means an additional travel time of around 8 minutes. The second option also runs via Ludwigsburger Straße and creates a diversion route of 4 km, which takes an additional 7 minutes. Due to the narrow sidewalk, appropriate traffic signs will be installed to ensure the safety of passers-by.

Construction phases and renovations

As part of this project, the Stuttgart Regional Council will continue to renovate the roadway on the L 1125. The route between Bietigheim-Bissingen and Sachsenheim had previously been completely renovated. The next step is to renovate the road surface around the bypass around Großsachsenheim and Sersheim. Construction phase 2 started on September 28, 2025, while it was reopened to traffic on October 13, 2025 at around 5 a.m.
sachsenheim.de provides further information about the further progress of the work, in particular about the upcoming full closure of the Breuningerstraße/Gerhard-Rummler-Straße junction from October 24th to 27th, 2025 and the subsequent closure between Porschekreisel and the K 1683 roundabout until November 3rd, 2025.

The total costs for the construction work in sections 2 and 3 amount to around 1.7 million euros. In addition to renewing the road, barrier-free bus stops will also be set up in the Eichwald industrial area, which should improve mobility for all road users.

Current information about the construction sites and traffic restrictions is available on the municipal websites and at the Stuttgart regional council. The road traffic center website also provides continuous updates about the traffic situation in Baden-Württemberg.
