Ludwigsburg is celebrating weddings: 653 couples are getting married in the record year 2025!

The city of Ludwigsburg is once again recording a record number of marriages. In 2025, a total of 653 couples tied the knot in this charming city, as ludwigsburg.de reported. This is an increase compared to 2024, where more than 600 couples were married for the first time since 1968 (618 couples). Among the newly married couples was Lea and René Henßler, who celebrated their wedding in the wedding room of the registry office on December 20, 2025, making them the 650th couple in Ludwigsburg.

The city's popularity as a wedding location can be explained primarily by the wide range of wedding venues. Ludwigsburg is known for romantic wedding locations, such as Ludwigsburg Castle, Favorite Castle and Monrepos Castle. In 2025, 379 couples from Ludwigsburg decided to get married, while 274 couples came from outside, clearly showing the city's attractiveness as a wedding destination.

A variety of wedding locations and special formats

The registry office offers a total of nine different wedding locations that reflect the special charm of the city. These include the play pavilion and the Guards Hall in the Residenzschloss, the Favorite Palace, the Lake Palace and the barrique barrel cellar on Monrepos, the Mathilden Garden, the Orangery in the Blooming Baroque, as well as the wedding room in the registry office and the meeting room in the town hall. Many of these locations are also suitable for larger wedding parties, for example the barrique barrel cellar can accommodate 29 people, while the orangery can accommodate up to 40 guests.

In addition to the classic wedding ceremonies, special formats are offered that make wedding planning more varied. These include candlelight weddings, which take place every Thursday evening from November to January and on a Saturday in December, as well as a Valentine's Day offer with romantic decorations. Particularly noteworthy are the pop-up weddings, which invited people to a spontaneous marriage without an appointment on May 25, 2025, giving 24 couples the opportunity to get married in a festive setting.

Future prospects and planning for 2026

For the year 2026, the registry office will be holding weddings on a total of 26 Saturdays, with marriages in the orangery also being possible on Saturdays for the first time. Wedding dates for 2026 are already online on the website traukalender.ludwigsburg.de available.
