Filippo Lavorato made his dream come true with the opening of his ice cream parlor “Eisliebe – La piccola Gelateria” in Korntal-Münchingen. The ice cream parlor is located on Johannes-Daur-Straße, where the converted rooms of a former bakery have been designed to be inviting. Fresh ice cream is produced here every day in an in-house ice laboratory, which is visible to guests. On good days the ice cream parlor sells up to 1,000 scoops of ice cream, while on bad days it sells around 30 scoops. In summer there are up to 24 varieties available, in winter the range is reduced to around 10 varieties.
All of this happens under the supervision of Lavorato's cousin Matthias Hagen, who is responsible for making the ice cream and previously trained as a chef. This is also noticeable in the quality of the ice cream on offer. The ice cream parlor offers a wide variety of flavors, including classics such as almond ice cream, strawberries in custard, chocolate and stracciatella. In addition, Lavorato experiments with unusual creations such as avocado sorbet and “Hallelujah” ice cream, made with hazelnuts and cocoa.
Sustainable ice cream production
In order to meet the demands of its customers, the ice cream is always produced the evening before so that it can cool down well. Instead of industrially manufactured products, Lavorato relies on natural ingredients. The popular Smurf ice cream is being replaced by the “Grüner Heiner” with woodruff flavor in order to avoid additives. This is in line with the trends in ice cream production, which increasingly rely on fresh and high-quality ingredients. Nutrient-rich ice cream masses for milk ice cream and fruit ice cream are made fresh on site, as is the case in other ice cream parlors that value good ingredients and tradition.

Filippo Lavorato, who has been working in the catering industry for eleven years and runs the Tachenberg clubhouse in Weilimdorf, plans to make the prices for the ice cream sustainable and affordable. He wants to ensure that the ice cream remains accessible to everyone.
