Full closure in Gerlingen: Detours until July 21st for construction work!

road users in Gerlingen must prepare for considerable restrictions by July 21, 2025. The reason for this is full closures due to management work on Leonberger Straße, which affect the K1657. The work started on June 30, 2025 and are said to be completed on July 21, 2025. These measures are part of the maintenance and settlement work in the German State network, which should contribute to improving the transport infrastructure. The blocked route is 288 meters and is located in the Schillerhöhe district of the Ludwigsburg district ( News.de ).

The full closure starts daily at 4:00 a.m. and is also maintained at night. Departments for cars and trucks are set up to redirect the traffic as smoothly as possible. Two different diversion options are available:

  • option 1: Feuerbacher Straße - Calwer Straße - Siemensstraße - Dieselstraße - Gerlinger Straße - Ditzinger Straße (2.2 km, 3 minutes longer).
  • option 2: Ditzinger Straße - Gerlinger Straße - Dieselstraße - Siemensstraße - Feuerbacher Straße (3.1 km, 6 minutes longer).

These routes should help to maintain the flow of traffic despite the necessary construction work.

connection with the transport infrastructure

The current street work in Gerlingen are part of a more comprehensive strategy for maintaining the transport infrastructure. Since January 1, 2021, the administration of the federal highways has been the responsibility of Autobahn GmbH of the federal government, which is responsible for planning, construction, operation, maintenance and financing. The Baden-Württemberg mobility center was also launched in 2022. This new department within the Ministry of Transport has set itself the goal of promoting and optimizing the networked and digital mobility in the region ( rp.baden-wuerttemberg.de ).

The work on the K1657 is therefore not only locally, but also part of a sustainable, nationwide infrastructure policy, which is also supported by the new mobility center. The goal is to improve traffic safety and quality in the long term. The citizen is therefore asked to adapt to the traffic restrictions and, if necessary, plan alternative routes.
