In a breathtaking event that transformed the town of Roßwein into a true festival hall, visitors experienced an incomparable spectacle on July 20, 2025! The renowned big bands from Freiberg took the audience into the dazzling world of jazz under the radiant motto “JAZZ CHURCH”. An almost sold-out house, almost 40 talented musicians and the awe-inspiring backdrop of St. Mary's Church – what an event!
The Roßwein city administration and the Roßwein parish have created a masterpiece together! The breathtaking performances by the Big Band Freiberg and the Wood’n’Brass Big Band of the TU Freiberg were not just musical highlights, but a true feast for the senses. The concert, which lasted almost two hours, flew by, accompanied by delicious snacks that were served during the short break - a real feast for the taste buds and ears!
A spectacular start
The opening of the concert by Pastor Dr. H. Jadatz and Mayor H. Paßehr crowned the evening. As the audience applauded, words of thanks were expressed to all musicians and supporters - a moment that guaranteed goosebumps!
In addition to the wonderful sounds of the big bands, the atmosphere was enriched by an impressive photography exhibition by David Gröhner, which can be seen in the Roßweiner Church until August 29th under the title “Heaven, Earth, Air and Sea”. A visual treat that perfectly topped off an already overwhelming experience!
