A German holidaymaker suffered a serious balcony accident in Mallorca. According to bietigheimerzeitung.de, the incident occurred after midnight, when the young man was with a larger group at the Ballermann celebrated. After a night of partying, the holidaymaker returned with a friend to their hotel, which is about a kilometer away from the party mile. While the friend took care of the bed, the German went to the balcony to get some fresh air.
Little is known about the exact circumstances of the accident. However, it is reported that the holidaymaker sat on the balcony railing and fell backwards while drunk. This resulted in a fall from a height of around twelve meters. tz.de notes that the incident happened at 3 a.m. when the man returned to his hotel without shoes or pants. Hotel staff noticed his condition but paid no further attention to it. The man may have lost his key or left it in his room and then tried to get to the balcony via the facade.
