Pentecost magic in Norderstedt: JuBlaNo and JBO unite talents!
On Whit Monday, June 9, 2025, a joint concert by the Norderstedt Young Wind Orchestra (JuBlaNo) and the Bietigheim-Bissingen Youth Wind Orchestra will take place in the auditorium of the Willy Brandt School. The start is scheduled for 6 p.m. Admission is free, although donations are requested. This special musical event, which will feature a variety of genres and styles, is a highlight for all brass music lovers.
The JuBlaNo, under the musical direction of Kathrin Wacker, is made up of around 40 wind and percussion players and represents the middle school orchestra of the Musikverein Norderstedt e.V. The musicians play a varied repertoire, which includes symphonic literature as well as film music and light music. As stadtmagazin-sh.de reports, the special thing about this concert is that both joint and individual contributions from the two orchestras are on the program.
Collaboration with Bietigheim-Bissingen
The Bietigheim-Bissingen youth wind orchestra, which has grown to around 60 members since it was founded in 1976, will perform under the direction of Sandra Kaltenbrunn. The Bietigheim Orchestra offers a wide repertoire that includes symphonic and concert pieces as well as modern and jazzy pieces.
Special pieces of the evening include “Oregon” by Jacob de Haan and “Cassiopeia” by Carlos Marques.
JuBlaNo's weekly rehearsals take place on Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Horst Embacher School. Over 30 musicians come together here who not only enjoy making music, but also have the opportunity to perform at both middle and high school levels. As explained on mvnorderstedt.de, the prerequisites for participation are the ability to play an instrument and ideally a few years of instrumental lessons, with club instruments also being provided.
For music lovers and those who want to become music lovers, this concert offers an excellent opportunity to experience the talents of young wind players and to enjoy the musical collaboration between two committed orchestras. It is also possible for interested musicians to make contact, as JuBlaNo is always happy to welcome new members.
