Construction site chaos in Ludwigsburg: These streets will be closed from June 23rd!

From today, June 23, 2025, extensive construction sites will come into force in Ludwigsburg, which will affect a large number of streets. The extensive work is intended to improve the city's infrastructure, but also leads to significant traffic delays and diversions. [ludwigsburg24] reports that central streets and important connections are particularly affected.

The construction sites are spread over several areas and vary in length. An overview of the most important measures shows that Abelstraße will be completely closed to traffic until the end of December, while in Alter Oßweiler Weg only pedestrians and cyclists will probably be able to use the route until October. Additional partial closures are expected in Bärenwiese and Beethovenstrasse, among others.

Construction site overview

  • Abelstraße: Vollsperrung für Kfz-Verkehr bis Ende Dezember (Fernwärme-Arbeiten in vier Bauabschnitten).
  • Alter Oßweiler Weg: Vollsperrung für Kfz- und Fußverkehr bis voraussichtlich Oktober (Erschließung Fuchshof).
  • Bärenwiese:
    • Teilsperrung West am 23.06.2025 (7-17 Uhr, 20 Parkplätze).
    • Vollsperrung West am 24. und 25.06.2025 (7-17 Uhr).
  • Beethovenstraße: Halbseitige Sperrung bis 30. Juni (Fernwärme- und Stromanschluss).
  • Birklenstraße: Vollsperrung bis 2. Juli (Kanal- und Hausanschluss).
  • Hackstraße: Vollsperrung bis 27. Juni (Erneuerung Gas- und Wasserleitungen).
  • Tübinger Straße: Vollsperrung bis 25. Juli (Sanierung, Kranstellung).
  • Stadtkirchenplatz: Geringfügige Einschränkungen bis 27. Juni (Wasserrohrbruch).

The full list of all construction sites and their specific details are available on the [Ludwigsburg] construction site map, which is continually updated. This source of information provides information about the locations, duration and type of work as well as the companies responsible. In addition, residents can be informed about upcoming construction sites so that they can prepare for possible restrictions in good time.

Traffic management and diversions

In order to minimize traffic disruptions, the traffic management system of the Department of Safety and Order is used. Details about traffic routing and diversions can also be found on site. The city actively communicates with neighboring communities to avoid overlaps and additional construction sites. In addition, traffic lights on the diversion routes will also be adjusted.

The current construction work has been particularly scheduled for the summer months, as there is less student traffic and repairs such as burst water pipes are more frequently needed. Road maintenance and renewal activities are coordinated, but unforeseeable circumstances such as technical renewals and emergency measures may lead to delays.
