Pink Bowl in Aalen: A sports festival for good causes and breast cancer awareness!
On June 14, 2025, the Centus Arena in Aalen will be the venue for the eagerly awaited Pink Bowl. This Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns event not only aims to promote enthusiasm for the sport of football, but also to draw attention to the important issue of early breast cancer detection. The event is organized by Dana Krull, an ambassador for Pink Ribbon Germany, who herself has a personal connection to the cause after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. She found her passion for American football through her husband, who supports the Unicorns, and she wants to use this event to create broader awareness of the topic of prevention. As Schwäbische reports, the Centus Arena will be used for a home game for the club outside of Schwäbisch Hall for the first time.
The Pink Bowl will have a varied program. The football school starts at 12:00 p.m. on the MTV pitch, followed by the opening of the Centus Arena at 2:00 p.m. The pregame show starts at 3:15 p.m. before the kickoff between the Pforzheim Wilddogs and the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns takes place at 4:00 p.m. The Wilddogs, who have won three of their last four games, lead the South table, while the Unicorns will compete in pink jerseys. A highlight of the day is the halftime show with the appearance of the well-known singer Tim Bendzko, who will perform his greatest hits. Over 3,000 tickets have already been sold and box office is available.
Activities and community experience
The event will not only allow adult fans to indulge in the sport, but also the youngest ones to familiarize themselves with the basics of football in the Kids Academy. To the delight of many children, a Unicorns Kids Club with bouncy castles has also been set up. Interviews with players and the cheerleaders, who will perform in an impressive choreography, are also planned from 3:15 p.m. Sports director Siegfried Gehrke has received positive feedback within the team and is confident that the arena will be sold out. Ralf Fuchs, head of the Aalen sports office, also actively supports the Unicorns in organizing the event.
The ticket prices are family-friendly: standing rooms are available from just 17 euros, seats from 23 euros, and children up to 12 years of age have free entry. These measures aim to promote a community experience that includes local clubs and the Aalen Legions. According to Schwäbische Post, a shuttle service from Schwäbisch Hall to Aalen is also being examined to make it easier for fans to travel.
The hope is that the event will not only provide exciting competition on the field, but also broad support for important awareness about breast cancer. Christina Kempkes from Pink Ribbon Germany sees the Pink Bowl as an excellent platform to further spread the message about early detection and send a strong signal to the community.
