24-year-old admits sexually abusing a ten-year-old boy

A 24-year-old is on trial in the Ellwangen regional court for sexual assault on a ten-year-old boy. At the beginning of the trial, the defendant confessed to all allegations against him. He has been in custody at the Schwäbisch Hall Correctional Facility since November 15, 2024. The indictment is based on three incidents that are said to have taken place between 2020 and 2022 in which the defendant is said to have performed sexual acts with the child. During a search of his apartment, the police also found child pornography files on the accused's cell phones and laptops.

In court, the defendant stated that he was “attracted” to the child and that he recognized the falseness of this relationship. He previously worked as a soccer coach for the E-Youth and had various temporary jobs, but was unemployed for around six months.

A psychiatric expert who evaluated the defendant found that he had social deficits, but average intelligence and no noticeable mental disorders. According to the expert, the defendant can be treated and needs an in-depth analysis of the incidents. For this reason, the defendant applied for admission to the social therapy department of the Offenburg prison. The trial will continue on June 30, and a verdict is expected on that day.
