Athletics has a special status in Germany. Around 7.9 million people show great interest in this sport, and around seven million Germans regularly participate in athletics in their free time, as statista.com reports. The successes that German athletes achieve in international comparison should also be highlighted. Current stars like Malaika Mihambo and Gina Brückenkemper inspire the next generation and show that athletics is an integral part of German sport.
The upcoming competitions in Neckarsulm are part of a large calendar of athletics events, which also includes highlights such as the German Championships in Dresden in August 2025. Such events not only enable competition, but also promote solidarity and enthusiasm for sport.
