The Festival of Lights in Heilbronn is just around the corner on June 2, 2025, and the anticipation for the upcoming events is already palpable. On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the family afternoon at the Götzenturm will open at 12 p.m. The event is designed to appeal to families and children and offers a varied program.
As part of the Festival of Lights, the 20th Böckinger Dragon Boat Cup will take place, with the award ceremony scheduled for 6 p.m. From 1 p.m., the VR-Bank stage will entertain visitors with live music from the band “New Band in Town”. What is particularly noteworthy is that entry for children and young people is free from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., which makes visiting the festival even more attractive for families.
A variety of activities for young and old
During the afternoon, the children have the opportunity to take part in the TSG Heilbronn streetball tournament (3×3), which also takes place from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. From 2 p.m., visitors can enjoy the club harbor tour of the Württemberg Motorboat Club, which gives them an insight into the world of motorboating. A second-hand-made unique market will also take place on the Neckarbogen from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the day, offering creative and unique products.
Another highlight will be the RT duck race, which starts at 5 p.m. between the One-Man-House and the VR-Bank stage. This exciting race promises not only fun for the participants, but also for the spectators who can cheer along. Dragon boat racing as an exciting sporting event
Another exciting event that is very popular among sports enthusiasts, the Dragon Boat Race, will take place on July 5th and 6th, 2025 in Berlin Grünau. The largest dragon boat club in Berlin is supported by hundreds of paddlers and visitors every year. On these two days, 9 boats with 20 paddlers each will take part in racing events at distances of 100m, 200m, 500m and 1,000m. With more than 70 teams paddling to the beat of the drums, this event promises a unique atmosphere with exotic boats, dragon heads and rousing battle cries ( Berlin City Cup ).
The dragon boat race is not just a competition, but also a celebration atmosphere to which both active athletes and visitors are warmly invited to take part in the action. The best team in Berlin will determine this competition in a lively and festive spectacle.
