Waldi transforms Haribo bears into an impressive aquarium for 900 euros!
Walter “Waldi” Lehnertz, a well-known dealer from the popular television show “Bares für Rares”, has launched an exciting project: He transforms a large Haribo bear into a dazzling aquarium. The controversial sales stand, which Waldi purchased for 100 euros, was a nostalgic relic that brings back memories of the famous golden fruit gums. Haribo gold bears are very popular not only in Germany but worldwide, which makes the retailer's project particularly interesting.
Waldi invested a total of 440 euros in redesigning the bear himself, with 170 euros being spent on the 80 liter aquarium alone and the same amount on the decorative materials. After taking the bear apart, Waldi installs the aquarium inside, a creative solution that is sure to turn heads.
Increased value through creativity
Waldi is optimistic that the value of the converted bear could increase to an estimated 800 to 900 euros, justifying the effort and investment. This project could appeal to many collectors and animal lovers as it offers an original twist on a traditional collectible.
Where does the fascination for Haribo come from? The company itself has an impressive history. Haribo.com reports that Haribo is the world market leader in the fruit gum and licorice sector and is active in more than 120 countries. The company employs around 8,500 people and produces at 16 locations in 11 countries.
A new face in the dealership
In the calm of “Cash for Rares”, Waldi is not the only one in charge. Anaisio Guedes, a new trader in the team, impresses with his extraordinary life path and his entrepreneurial spirit. Guedes, who grew up in the Amazon jungle, started trading at the age of twelve and opened his own gallery at Hamburg Airport in 2015. Despite his unusual career, he speaks five languages and has completed his educational qualifications. His autobiography “No risk, no chance: The biography of a courageous optimist” was published in 2022 and found its way to ZDF thanks to an unsolicited application.
Haribo himself doesn't stand still. The company continuously expands its sales and production network to serve national tastes and develop new confectionery products. The large number of new products and acquisitions shows that Haribo is constantly working to consolidate its market position while taking into account the preferences of consumers worldwide.
Waldi's creative project with the Haribo bear reflects this willingness to innovate and shows that new approaches are always required, even in a nostalgic brand. Whether his converted bear will actually reach its estimated value remains to be seen.
