Lindau celebrates Pentecost: crafts, street food and pure sunshine!
On the Pentecost weekend, Lindau attracts many visitors who can look forward to a colorful program. From June 11th to 13th, 2025, two events will take place in the city on Lake Constance that offer numerous attractions. The traditional crafts market and the 4th Lindau street food market transform the city into a land of milk and honey of entertainment and enjoyment.
The street food market, which is being held on Therese-von-Bayern-Platz, offers a variety of culinary specialties this year. A total of 15 food trucks serve a mix of regional and international delicacies. Guests can look forward to hearty “soul food” as well as sweet treats. Particularly noteworthy is the opportunity to try Swabian specialties that reflect the taste of the region. The market is open on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with times varying: Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Entry is free, so there is something for everyone.
Diverse entertainment program
The atmosphere during the market is great. A DJ provides musical entertainment, while a live band performs in the evening. For younger visitors there is a varied children's program with a carousel, a balloon campaign and a clown show. Especially in the changeable weather, those present were happy about the festive atmosphere and the numerous visitors who were able to ignore the limited rain.
In addition to the street food market, the craft market takes place at Rüberplatz and the Römerschanze, which starts on Whitsunday. Here, local artists showcase handmade products including ceramics, jewelry, hats and colorful decorations. The colorful works of art, such as garden gnomes, turtles and birds, bring joy and color to the displays. Visitors have the opportunity to stroll through the stands, get advice and make one or two purchases.
Shopping mile and museums
On Sunday shopping, the shops on Maximilianstrasse and Cramergasse are open, making the region a first-class destination for shopping lovers. Visitors can take advantage of museum offerings such as the Cavazzen Museum and the Hundertwasser Art Forum, which also attract many guests. The harbor promenade fills with life as people enjoy the sun, eat and drink, shop and experience music and culture in the open air.
The overall atmosphere on the Pentecost weekend in Lindau is an oasis of well-being in which happy faces and celebrating together are the focus. The weather on Whit Sunday will be windy and cloudy, while Whit Monday will bring bright sunshine, which increases anticipation for the coming days.
