SENSATION! 7.5 million euros for inclusive living in Baden-Württemberg!
INCREDIBLE! Baden-Württemberg is revolutionizing the participation of people with disabilities! With a breathtaking sum of 7.5 million euros, the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration wants to dramatically improve the quality of life of many people in our country! This is a crucial step that enables both social integration and a self-determined life for people with disabilities and at the same time opens the public's eyes to this urgent issue. The shocking grievances are finally being addressed!
The decision to invest this enormous amount in creating inclusive housing and care options could change the lives of hundreds of people! The ministry has taken concrete measures in various districts - including the districts of Göppingen, Konstanz, Lörrach, Rastatt and Rems-Murr district as well as the urban district of Ulm. A total of 5.8 million euros is already flowing into seven important projects! And that's not the end of the story! In the second half of the year, a further 1.7 million euros will be available for additional planned measures. A true sensation!
Participation for everyone – a step long overdue!
But what does that mean specifically? People with disabilities have the right to a life that corresponds to that of their non-disabled people. Mobility and independence are their desired goals, which can now become more tangible thanks to this fantastic initiative! The Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS) has made it clear that equal opportunities for this population group are promoted in order to ensure equal participation in social life!
The state government's political agenda is on full display here! A needs-based and community-based housing offer is provided by the funded measures and could soon form the backbone of an inclusive society. No person should ever be excluded or disadvantaged because of a disability! That is the guiding principle that the Human Action pursued by defining inclusion as the natural belonging of all people.
A call for solidarity!
The challenges are enormous. In fact, 33% of people with disabilities often feel lonely, which highlights the current and dramatic situation. The unemployment rate for this group has gone through the roof and it is high time that society takes action! In addition, a recent survey shows that voter turnout among people with disabilities is dramatically lower than among non-disabled voters. A more than shocking result!
It is up to all of us to fight for an inclusive world in which every person has equal opportunities! Fortunately, the discourse around inclusion has evolved from a discussion about “disability” to a call for “diversity and diversity.” EACH of us can contribute to breaking down the existing barriers and creating a more open society based on freedom, respect and equality for all people!
Long overdue, but change has now begun. Let us shape the future together and create a world in which the participation of all people, regardless of their background, becomes a reality! Commit to it, because inclusion is not just a concept, but the duty of every individual! Let’s bring this prosperous, inclusive future into our communities together!
