Garden magic in Kirchheim: Visitors discover the diversity of botanicals!
On Whit Sunday, seven gardens in the Kirchheim area opened their doors to visitors. Despite the suboptimal weather, which brought a few hectoliters of rain, hundreds of interested people were present, equipped with umbrellas and rain jackets. The event, organized by the local community, offered a variety of inspiration for garden lovers. The gardens were invitingly designed and ranged from traditional to contemporary styles, which appealed to the general public interested in horticulture and design.
Visitors were able to admire the different garden styles and learn about special plants and flowers. Some gardens invited visitors to linger, while the friendly atmosphere of the event ensured that people started chatting and sharing their horticultural experiences. Many suggestions for their own gardens were taken away and ideas were exchanged from other enthusiasts. Teckbote reports that with this campaign the organizers have created a platform that not only promotes exchange, but also raises awareness of diversity in horticulture.
Upcoming garden design events
An important date for garden lovers is already coming up: In 2024, the Bavarian State Garden Show will take place in Kirchheim, which is supported by numerous specialist gardening and landscaping companies. A total of 13 companies will present various garden concepts, including innovative ideas such as insect gardens and sustainable patio edging. LGS Kirchheim emphasizes that the Association of Gardening, Landscape and Sports Field Construction Bavaria e.V. (VGL Bayern) acts as a premium partner and provides information about gardening and landscaping throughout the entire event.
Various attractions will enrich the exhibition, including a “Japan Garden” from Kokoro Gartenarchitektur GmbH and a photo installation fromFINLAND Garten- und Landschaftsbau GmbH. A bamboo garden, designed by landscape architects Roland Großberger and Matthias Därr, also awaits guests. Students from Weihenstephan-Triesdorf are working on the “Garden of the Future”, the winning design of which was designed by a creative team and is being implemented by May Landschaftsbau GmbH.
A special highlight will be the observation tower, designed by artist Roman Hummitzsch and also realized by May Landschaftsbau. The anticipation for the state horticultural show is growing, and in order to involve the community, a construction site festival will take place on September 23, 2023. Here visitors can see the progress of the preparations and take part in a diverse hands-on program for the whole family.
This year's open gardens show that there is a strong interest in gardening and that events like this provide an important platform for the exchange of ideas and inspiration. The upcoming events, especially the State Garden Show, promise to be an equally creative and inspiring experience for garden lovers and the entire community.
