Filharmonia Szczecin: June full of concerts and musical highlights!
On May 29, 2025, the Filharmonia in Szczecin entered the final phase of its artistic season and is offering a varied program in June. The final concerts include a variety of highlights that will captivate the audience. The highlights include concerts with virtuoso double bass playing, young percussion talents and an international guitar festival. The season will also be honored with a symphonic finale featuring works by Mahler and Beethoven. Open-air concerts in the amphitheater complete the offer prepared for the coming weeks, as szczeciner.pl reports.
The specific program items begin on June 6th with a concert that includes works by Haydn, Kurpiński and the reconstructed double bass concerto by Dragonetti. The solo part is taken by Karol Nasiłowski and the direction is by Przemysław Fiugajski. On June 7th there will be a performance by Szczecin Young Percussion, conducted by Dariusz Jagiełło. The Baltic Guitar Days with the duo Melis (Susana Prieto and Alexis Muzurakis) are scheduled for June 12th.
Final concerts of the season
It will be particularly festive at the two symphonic concerts on June 13th and 14th, during which the overture to Mozart's “The Magic Flute” and Beethoven's piano concerto in E flat major, interpreted by pianist Kate Liu, will be brought to the stage. The program also includes Mahler’s First Symphony “Titan,” conducted by Przemysław Neumann. A concert entitled “Music on the Water” is also expected on June 21st, which will take place at the AZS Yacht Club in Szczecin Dąbie, and on June 27th the concert “Filmowo” will take place in the Teatr Letnim. The toenails of great music exercises and chairs are complemented by introductory events that take place every Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the Chamber Music Hall. These lectures, held by Polish musicologists and renowned journalists and music critics, offer insights into the published works and help participants to understand them better. The events are open to ticket holders, subscribers and members of the Philharmonic Circle of Friends, as filharmonia.pl discusses.
Other upcoming events
In addition to the Filharmonia's program items, Music Day will begin with a special event on May 29th. The program begins at 10:00 a.m. with “Magic of Movie” with the German Philharmonic Merck, conducted by Markus Huber and moderated by Juri Tetzlaff. At 2 p.m. “Five for Hans” will be performed, followed by Richard Strauss’ “Salome” and a performance of Offenbach’s “Orpheus in the Underworld.” Top-class soloists were hired for this, as concerti.de reports.
