Tradition is kept alive in picturesque Meckenheim. On June 21st and 22nd, 2025, the carnivalists of the Meckenheim City Soldiers invite you to a new edition of the popular fair events. This event is a symbol of lived community and triggers nostalgic feelings among citizens. The fair offers a wide range of activities and promises to delight young and old.
The highlight of the fair is the “Sibbeschröm” tournament, which starts on Saturday, June 21st at 3:00 p.m. in the armory on Prof.-Scheeben-Straße. Anyone interested can take part; the entry fee is only ten euros. On Saturday evening you can also look forward to a convivial funfair late night drink, which will lighten the atmosphere well into the night.
Culinary and family program
Sunday, June 22nd, is all about families. From 11:00 a.m. the musical train plays a concert and creates a festive atmosphere. The event's culinary delights include traditional sauerbraten, dumplings and red cabbage at family-friendly prices. There is coffee and cake for those with a sweet tooth, while a bouncy castle and other activities keep little guests entertained. Admission to both days of the event is free.
This fair event is more than just a celebration; It aims to preserve Meckenheim's fair tradition and invite all citizens to join in the celebration. The carnivalists are setting an example for solidarity in the community, similar to other traditional events such as the Oktoberfest of the City Soldiers, which took place for the third time in 2017 and was very well received. This tradition is reflected not only in the fair, but also in the successful holding of the Oktoberfest, which brings citizens together and ensures harmonious coexistence.
