Fête de la Musique: Big free closing for France Music Week!
In less than two weeks, the first France Music Week will begin, which will take place from June 16 to 21, 2025 in Paris and other cities in France. Announced by Emmanuel Macron last year, this aims to promote the excellence of French artists as well as revitalize the music sector and reposition France on the global music landscape. The week will include a wide range of events and activities spanning different musical genres – including jazz, rap, variety, electronic and metal. Various programs are already planned, including professional meetings at iconic locations, conferences and panels that address current challenges in the music industry.
The highlight of France Music Week will be a major free concert on the evening of the Fête de la Musique, which will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at an as yet undisclosed location in Paris. This concert will not only be broadcast live by France Télévisions, but will also provide a platform for artists whose line-up is currently unknown. Throughout the week, varied musical programs will be offered across France to reach a wide audience and highlight the diversity of the music scene. The Fête de la Musique 2025 will also offer numerous free concerts and DJ sets at various locations in Paris and the Île-de-France.
Diverse events and highlights
France Music Week includes a variety of highlights that combine art and technology. The official launch event with performances and speeches will take place on June 16, 2025. In the following days the focus will be on professional networks and innovations in music. June 17th will be held as a Professional Day to focus on innovation and technology in music. A summit meeting will take place on June 20th at the Château de Versailles, where international and national music professionals can exchange views on global challenges facing the industry.
In addition, creative sessions on Francophonie are planned at the Cité Internationale de la Langue Française from June 14th to 18th, bringing together both French and international artists. The role of the CNM and other opportunities
The entire event is coordinated by the Center national de la musique (CNM). Opportunities to apply for creative sessions, musical presentations and industry networking are available, with the deadline to apply being January 31, 2025. The selection of participants will be announced on March 15, 2025, followed by a briefing on May 1, 2025.
