SENSATION in Böblingen: German fire brigade championships show full commitment!

On July 12, 2025, a FIREWORKS of emotions and competitive spirit broke out in tranquil Böblingen! The city became the melting pot of Germany's best firefighting teams as 66 passionate teams with a total of 792 members came together from every corner of the country to take part in the breathtaking German fire brigade championships to participate. The adrenaline-pumping competition took place in the Waldstadion in Dagersheim, where the best firefighters competed for fame and honor!

The disciplines were nothing short of spectacular! The teams had to show what they were capable of in spectacular relay races, followed by the nerve-wracking scenario of a fictional fire. With a tiny time limit of 30 seconds, one of the teams showed in training how the extinguishing attack worked and aroused the spectators' enthusiasm! Coach Florian Müller, also the main evaluator, had the mammoth task of capturing the prospect of action and speed.

A competition of records

The Böblingen fire department courageously faced the challenge and achieved the BEST time of 46 seconds - but not without incurring 15 serious penalty seconds. An educational challenge before the grand finale at 5 p.m.! The excitement was palpable as 13 teams wanted to secure the QUALIFICATION spot for the international competition in Austria. Böblingen fire department plays a central role here by not only organizing the championships, but also promoting the team spirit and commitment of the young firefighters!

In addition to the exciting competitions, the spectators, participants and battle enthusiasts enjoyed an exciting supporting program. On Friday evening, DJ Kevin Christens heated things up with his BLUE LIGHT PARTY, before a MEGA PARTY with the live band “Die VolXX LIGA” turned night into day on Saturday. Entry on both days was FREE for all visitors! The atmosphere was electric and every moment was a FESTIVAL for the senses.

A story full of challenges

But the event offered more than just exciting competitions. In a moving interview, Thomas Reuter, the deputy fire chief of the Böblingen fire department, spoke about the increasingly complex challenges facing the fire department. Fewer volunteers and increasing demands call for creativity and cohesion. The Böblingen fire department, which has been taking part in competitions since 1961 and organized the championships in 1996 and 2008, was not just a competition, but also a call to community!

The history of the German Fire Brigade Championships, which were launched in 1972, is characterized by a growing number of participants and increasing importance for training and preparation for emergencies. This unique event is the perfect place to ignite your firefighting passion and strengthen the flame of team spirit!

The day ended with a bang: the winning teams received shiny trophies in the ***** 3 Lions Cup ***** and it was a competition that no one will soon forget.
