Final concert of the wind class: music to get excited about!
A special musical event will take place in the Eschenbach region on June 5, 2025: the final concert of the wind instruments class for adults. This innovative form of music teaching enables participants to learn wind or percussion instruments as part of a class music class. Under the expert guidance of Lukas Schinzel, the participants will present the results of their two-year training and a subsequent year of practice. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Breiten schoolhouse in Eschenbach.
The concept of the wind class is not only designed to promote individual playing, but rather to emphasize interaction from the first note. This brings active and communal music-making to the fore, which is becoming increasingly important, particularly in adult education. [Linth24.ch].
New opportunities for those interested
A new brass class will start on August 14, 2025, which is part of a two-year project. The weekly rehearsals take place in St.Gallenkappel and last 90 minutes each, not including school holidays. Thomas Brandenberger will lead the new class, supported by Lukas Schinzel. No prior musical knowledge is necessary to participate; All that matters is the interest of the participants.
This form of musical training opens up new opportunities, especially for people who are interested in music late in life. At this point, the strong anchoring of the wind class in the youth work of the music clubs, which is promoted through cooperation between schools and music clubs, becomes apparent. The Music Center Baden-Württemberg also emphasizes the importance of the exemplary approach of the wind music classes and the practical content that is essential for successful musical training.
Promoting inclusion and social learning
Another aspect of the wind class is its suitability for inclusive educational settings. According to Deutsche Bläserjugend, the frequent presence of students with special educational needs shows that this music format can also be successfully practiced in inclusive classes. Positive experiences in wind class lessons not only promote the students' social learning, but also a good class atmosphere.
The combination of music, inclusion and community makes the wind class a promising method that is not only important for the personal development of the participants, but also serves as a model for sustainable musical education.
