HCD Gröbenzell clearly lost in Wolfschlägen: 26:38 after a fighting start!
In the third division handball, HCD Gröbenzell had to endure another away game. The team lost 26:38 against TSV Wolfschlägen and remained without a point in the current season after the opening defeat against Ismaning. The game, which took place on September 22nd, 2025, included both nice moves and clear weaknesses on the part of Gröbenzell.
At the beginning of the encounter, however, coach Dittiger's team was optimistic. Gröbenzell opened the game with a 3-1 lead, scored by goalkeeper Sabrina Lipp, Jule Hultsch and Verena Obermeier. However, TSV Wolfschlägen was able to equalize quickly and remained in the Gröbenzeller attack until the 16th minute due to hectic and technical errors, which held on until the score was 8:8.
Game progression and critical phases
After Wolfschlägen took a break, the tide turned. From the 23rd to 29th minute there was a devastating 0:6 run for Gröbenzell, which resulted in a deficit of 12:18 at halftime. Difficulties in one-on-one situations and inefficient attacking performance contributed significantly to this deficit.
Wolfschlägen, on the other hand, demonstrated more will in attack and presented themselves as a well-adjusted team. Particularly notable was the home debut of Jade Oral, the new playmaker, who played a crucial role in the game. Coach Simon Hablizel said that “not everything went smoothly,” but that didn’t detract from the clear victory. “It was fun playing in front of the fans,” Oral said after the game.
Statistics and outlook
Gröbenzell's top scorers, including Jule Hultsch, Ramona Nittel and Sabrina Lipp, each contributed five goals. Ines Ilies finally managed to score her first goal in the third division. Despite the large number of technical errors and the associated deficits, the team is required to work on patience and perseverance.
The victory for Wolfschlägen was clear in the end, but could not be described as particularly convincing. It remains to be seen how Gröbenzell will perform in the coming games and whether they can improve their performance. After the false start in Erlangen, the team is doing everything it can to learn from the defeats.
