ADS-TEC Energy opens a location in Austria – opportunities for the region!

The company ADS-TEC Energy is pushing forward its expansion in the DACH region. Today was the founding of the ads-tec Energy Austria GmbH announced. The new location in Kötschach-Mauthen is intended to strengthen the market position and improve customer service in Central and Eastern Europe.

The first order intake that has already been recorded is particularly promising. A framework agreement for three large storage facilities, each with a capacity of 5 MWh, was concluded with an Austrian energy supplier. A fast charging solution was also commissioned for the Austrian market. The first storage system is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2025 or beginning of 2026. Thomas Speidel, CEO and founder of ADS-TEC Energy, explains the importance of this foundation for customer support and the increasing need for storage and charging solutions in the region.

Sustainability and efficiency through intelligent battery storage

In order to meet the challenges of the future energy system, flexible solutions are required. According to the EnBW The future energy system will be shaped by renewable energies and electromobility. This means that the increasing energy demand and various load peaks must be covered efficiently. This is where intelligent battery storage systems come into play, which can advance the energy transition quickly and economically.

Battery storage is able to cap load peaks, reduce energy costs and use renewable energy more efficiently. They also allow for multifunctional use, meaning they can be used for multiple tasks at the same time. The modular design of such storage ensures easy scalability and high charging capacities, while lithium-ion batteries balance supply and demand in the power grid.

Current trends in the battery market

A comprehensive market analysis of the Fraunhofer ISE shows that electromobility and stationary battery storage are key trends in the battery market. These storage solutions are crucial for buffering and grid stabilization of renewable energy.

The most widely used technologies are lithium-ion batteries, while newer solutions such as solid-state batteries and sodium-ion batteries are also gaining traction. Through their material combinations and developments, these technologies offer promising approaches for greater efficiency and sustainability. Fraunhofer ISE conducts research in particular in material development in order to further increase performance.

With these developments in the battery market and the expansion of ADS-TEC Energy, the region is facing an exciting chapter in energy supply. Proximity to customers, emphasizes Roland Klauss, CEO of ADS-TEC Energy Austria, and offering optimized solutions for modern grid integration could be the key to success in a dynamic market.
