Seniors in Baltmannsweiler are looking for IT professionals for digital help!
In Baltmannsweiler, support is urgently needed for the senior citizens' council. The Senior Citizens' Council has set itself the goal of teaching older people how to use digital devices such as computers, cell phones and tablets. Since 2008, they have been offering regular courses and individual lessons to make the digital world more accessible to seniors. However, the retirement of some experts due to age is leading to bottlenecks in the range of courses available, which increases the need for additional IT experts. The Esslinger Zeitung reports that the committed volunteers need support in order to be able to continue to provide help.
The training room, located in the Hohengehren elementary school, is equipped with 12 laptops, speakers and projectors, which provides the framework for effective digital training. The Senior Citizens Council is responding to the growing challenges to reduce the digital divide between generations. Anyone interested can contact Alfons Feichtner on 0 71 53 / 4 12 07 or Bernd Heugel on 0 71 53 / 4 20 21 to get involved.
Course offerings and donations needed
The Baltmannsweiler Senior Citizens Council continues to offer an extensive range of courses. The courses and workshops take place on Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Hohengehren elementary school, room 13 on the ground floor. In addition, an open question time is offered on the first Thursday of every month from 3:30 p.m. Individual lessons are available for people with little to no previous knowledge and can take place by appointment. The SC Treff Baltmannsweiler emphasizes that access is also possible with a wheelchair or walker.
In order to ensure the continuation of these valuable offerings, the Senior Citizens Council also relies on donations. These are necessary for the procurement, repair and updating of hardware and software. Donations for consultations or practice sessions are also welcome, and reasonable contributions are expected for the courses, each of which consist of two lessons. Financial support is intended to ensure that every senior citizen will continue to have access to the digital world in the future.
