Future of logistics: AGVs and mobile robots in the focus of the technology forum!
The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Engineering and Automation (IPA) is hosting the eleventh “Technology Forum for Driverless Transport Systems and Mobile Robots” on September 24, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Leinfelden-Echterdingen near Stuttgart. This annual event has become an established meeting point for the industry, highlighting current developments and trends in the areas of automated guided vehicle systems (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMR). Tobias Rainer Schäfle, the business segment manager for automated intralogistics systems at Fraunhofer IPA, leads the event.
The forum is aimed at a broad audience of users, suppliers, manufacturers and developers of automation solutions in material flow, logistics, production automation and service robotics. Specialist lectures from well-known companies and institutions such as Bosch, the University of Freiburg and the Fraunhofer IPA will offer participants new insights and solutions. In addition, there will be an exhibition with companies such as Forum-FTS, Node Robotics and Mitsubishi Logisnext Europe.

In the context of automating mobile robots, Bosch Rexroth provides key software and hardware solutions. These innovative solutions offer manufacturers and system integration companies a high degree of freedom in expanding functions and fleet management. Bosch Rexroth presents the ROKIT robotics kit and the ctrlX AUTOMATION automation kit, both of which are designed to increase efficiency and flexibility in logistics.
The ROKIT includes various software and hardware components that enable autonomous driving. The products are compatible with industrial PCs and laser scanners and offer an open user interface (API) for easy control. Particularly noteworthy is the ROKIT Locator, which records vehicle positions in real time and creates maps of the surrounding area without having to take any structural measures.
