Staying in the league is in danger: Burgrieden and Muttensweiler under pressure!
Next Sunday, May 31, 2025, at 3 p.m., crucial games are on the program in the promotion round as the teams fight to stay in the league. The victories needed to stay in the league will be particularly important for SV Burgrieden and SGM Muttensweiler/Hochdorf. Both teams are under pressure defensively, with Burgrieden still needing two wins from the remaining home games to maintain their chances. This is reported by the Swabian.
SV Burgrieden was recently able to stabilize somewhat with a 2-2 draw against SV Kirchberg. Timo Barwan and Deniz Cimen had put the guests in the lead before Kirchberger equalized shortly before the end. However, current 7th place in the table with 16 points leaves little room for error and the challenges ahead are enormous.
The starting position of the pursuers
The situation is similar for SGM Muttensweiler/Hochdorf. The team also needs two wins to possibly secure relegation. The pressure is increased by the fact that they have to compete against the in-form SGM Ertingen/Binzwangen, who recently won clearly 4-1 against Altshausen. Muttensweiler was able to beat Türkspor Biberach 5-1 in a recent impressive game and is now in 5th place with 21 points.
For TSV Kirchberg, who have remained winless in their last seven games, the home game against SF Schwendi is of great importance. The team will do everything in its power to end the negative series and consolidate in mid-table. Kirchberg is currently at the top with 29 points and hopes to defend this place.
Additional challenges
Türkspor Biberach could become a serious threat to SV Burgrieden. Although they are currently in 8th place with 16 points, they have the potential to surprise at any time. At the same time, SGM Ringschnait/Mittelbuch, which also recently played 2-2 against SV Sigmaringen, will play against SGM Blönried/Ebersbach, with captain Michael Wiest saying goodbye.
The last district league game for SV Baustetten, which plays without pressure in the fight against relegation, takes place against SV Schemmerhofen. While Baustetten remains last, Schemmerhofen has slight hope of a better placement with 18 points. The SF Hundersingen need a point to stay in the league and have their eyes on a cup final next week.
The situation in the district league remains exciting, and the starting position before the last match day promises some important decisions about promotion and relegation. With so many teams fighting for their goals, the drama is sure to be high when the games kick off at 3pm on Sunday.
