The first exercise pass for children in the Esslingen district was successfully completed!
The exercise pass in the Esslingen district has made significant progress: eight children from the St. Georg kindergarten in Wendlingen successfully completed their exercise pass today. This project, which was initiated by the health department last year, aims to create the foundations for a healthy and active life for children in daycare centers. The children completed 32 different exercises inspired by animals from the Movement Pass, including balancing like a squirrel, climbing like a monkey and hopping like a kangaroo. For each successfully completed exercise, they received a kite sticker to recognize their achievement.
As a special reward, the children were also given a gym bag. The project is generously supported by the AOK Neckar-Fils, the Kreissparkasse Foundation and the Esslingen sports district. This funding reflects the region's commitment to offering children the opportunity to move around through play and develop their motor skills. It is important to take preventive measures at a time when more and more children are struggling with motor difficulties and obesity.
The importance of the movement pass
The movement pass is a comprehensive movement concept from Baden-Württemberg that was specially developed to support the healthy growth of children between the ages of two and seven. Especially after the pandemic, the need for such programs is greater than ever. Children often show less motor development and are more likely to be overweight when they enter primary school. The movement pass helps to counteract these developments. It offers playful movement promotion that can be easily integrated into everyday life, both indoors and outdoors.
In addition, the fourth certification of educational specialists was carried out in October 2023. Since the launch event in November 2022, the movement pass has now been implemented in 68 daycare centers in the district. In total, there are 108 certified educational professionals who care for around 3,900 children as part of this program. These professionals are crucial in helping children understand the importance of exercise and a healthy lifestyle through the exercise pass.
Multipliers and training
The project is also looking for multipliers who can train pedagogical specialists from daycare centers. In order to take part in these training courses, a silver sports badge or experience in instruction in the area of movement is required. The scope of the training is one to two events per calendar year and is paid for at a flat rate. If you are interested, you can contact the health department at the email address gesundheitsplanning@LRA-ES.de report. Further information about the movement pass is available on the website omoungspass-bw.de available.
Overall, the commitment to the exercise pass shows that in the Esslingen district, children's urge to exercise is encouraged in order to increase children's body awareness and self-esteem. It is essential to help them recognize and overcome their limitations so that they can start life strong and healthy. The exercise pass is therefore an important step in the right direction for cross-generational health promotion.
