Dinosaur park in New Jersey closes: T-Rex and Co. for sale!
The Field Station: Dinosaurs theme park in Leonia, New Jersey will close in November 2025 after more than 14 years. This decision was made due to financial difficulties and an expiring lease. As a farewell, the park is selling 25 life-size dinosaur models, including an impressive T-Rex.
The models are available on Facebook Marketplace and demand is already extremely high. Interested parties from museums, zoos and private individuals have expressed their interest. The lifelike figures are in good condition and well suited for reuse, but also present challenges as buyers are responsible for their uninstallation, transportation and shipping.
Details of the sales offer
Prices for the dinosaur models vary, with the 12-meter-tall Tyrannosaurus rex being offered for around $2,700, which is approximately 2,500 euros. Other models, such as a Triceratops with a height of five meters, are available for 1,668 US dollars (around 1,570 euros). The most expensive dinosaur on offer is a 23-meter-long Apatosaurus, priced at $2,860 (around €2,690). Smaller models, such as a Velociraptor, are available starting at 700 US dollars (approx. 600 euros).
The figures are described as “used” and in “fair condition”. Buyers should also be aware of the possible high shipping costs to Germany, especially for the large models that are up to 15 meters high. Collection of the dinosaurs will be possible after the final closure date of November 9, 2025.
Park manager Lisa Fardella commented on the sales campaign and emphasized that the response was overwhelming. The theme park has attracted over a million visitors in the past and has been a place not only for entertainment but also for learning experiences in the field of paleontology.
The park's closure represents an end to a historic period in which families were offered a unique experience that combined both fun and education. The interest in the dinosaur models shows that the fascination for these prehistoric creatures remains unbroken.
For many, this is a last chance to acquire a piece of history and integrate the exciting time of dinosaurs into their own collection or furnishings. So if you are interested in one of the life-size models, you should hurry up as demand is high and time is short.
