125 years of the Tälesbahn: Anniversary trip inspires in Weissach!
On Sunday, September 22nd, 2025, the 125th anniversary of the Tälesbahn was celebrated with dignity at the train station in Weissach, Böblingen district. This historic railway line has connected the cities of Neuffen and Nürtingen for over a century and continues to attract numerous visitors to this day. The anniversary trip with various diesel railcars not only recalled the railway's long tradition, but also showed its diversity and technology.
The diesel railcars that run in the operational area between Neuffen and Nürtingen are not only important for regular passenger traffic. On special occasions they are also used outside of their regular area of operation, which further increases the public's interest in the old railway line. As ntz.de reports, the anniversary Tälesbahn was a very special event that attracted many onlookers.
The Tälesbahn vehicles
Over the centuries, the Tälesbahn has used a variety of vehicles. The most important include:
The vehicle history shows the railway's long tradition and continuous adaptation to technical innovations. This change is also supported by a review of the Nürtingen–Neuffen railway line, which has been used for local passenger transport since its opening.
A look into the future
The Tälesbahn is not only a cultural heritage, but also an important part of the regional transport infrastructure. Their preservation and the preservation of the associated vehicles are of great importance for the identity of local residents and the promotion of tourism-related activities. With festivals like the anniversary in Weissach, history is kept alive and at the same time the importance of the railway for the region is emphasized.
The challenges such as maintenance and modernization of the vehicles will continue to be the focus in order to make the Tälesbahn accessible and attractive for future generations. The history of the Tälesbahn is therefore both a look back and an outlook on the possibilities that such a traditional route can offer.
