In a breathtaking showdown of sporting performance, Katharina Kellermann from Weil der Stadt pulled off an outstanding trick at the German Long Distance Triathlon Championship: She took the coveted second place in her age group for women aged 40 to 44! With a strenuous distance of 3.8 kilometers of swimming, followed by 180 kilometers of cycling and a final marathon run of 42 kilometers, Kellermann fought his way to the finish in an incredible total time of 11:39 hours! This is particularly remarkable because the demanding route through the Black Forest, with an altitude of over 1,500 meters, is even more difficult than the legendary Ironman in Hawaii! Sensational preparations

The preparation for this massive event was nothing short of epic! She dedicated over 20 hours a week to her training to ensure she was at her best. On the day of the competition, the alarm went off at 3:22 a.m. – yes, you heard that right! The early breakfast was a real challenge for the athlete, but she didn't let it stop her from giving her best. At 4:15 a.m. we took a shuttle bus to the ore mine where the competition began.

The cycling and running route took them through spectacular places like Altensteig and Mindersbach! This passionate athlete lived and breathed triathlon and is therefore a fantastic role model.
