Big day trip to Waldenbuch: Discover chocolate and history!
On Wednesday, June 25th, an exciting trip to Waldenbuch will take place, as NRWZ reports. This charming city is located in Schönbuch, south of Stuttgart, and awaits participants with its historic old town center. Waldenbuch is known for its pretty half-timbered houses, fountains and terraces, which provide a picturesque backdrop.
Some of the city's highlights are Waldenbuch Castle and the impressive 36 meter high church tower of the town church of St. Veit. The castle is home to the “Everyday Culture” museum, which is considered a branch of the Württemberg State Museum and is one of the most important folklore museums in the German-speaking region. Here visitors can immerse themselves in the lifestyles of different classes of society from the 19th century to the modern era, including impressive exhibitions of homes, workshops and everyday objects.
Ritter Sport and the chocolate sides
Waldenbuch is also the home of the famous chocolate brand Ritter Sport. The visitor center offers a modern, varied exhibition that revolves around cocoa and appeals to numerous senses - seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and feeling. Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the chocolate shop and café, turning a lengthy stay into a pleasure trip. The discovery tour through the history of chocolate promises a very special experience that will remain unforgettable even for lovers of sweets, as Swabian Country Partie makes clear.
After exploring the city and the special sights, we continue to Calw Holzbronn, where participants can enjoy a cozy meal in an original atmosphere at the Krappa Nescht restaurant. This represents another highlight of the day before the return journey to the boarding points at 5.30 p.m.
Invitation and registration
There are still places available for the excursion. New alumni who have not yet received an invitation to this event are also particularly welcome. Those interested can register by calling 07729-1884 to secure a place.
With its combination of history, culture and culinary enjoyment, Waldenbuch offers a successful variety and a day full of discoveries, for example through the Museum of Everyday Culture and Ritter Sport.
