Wonderful victories: Marlon and Neo are U13 cycling champions!
Marlon Ganz and Neo Cartarius from RV Weil im Schönbuch secured the title at the German U13 cycling championship on June 19, 2025. The two talents have performed impressively this season, winning 51 of 53 games. This success is not only a personal triumph for the two athletes, but also a significant award for their club.
The championship took place in Wiesbaden and was the culmination of an outstanding season. RV Gärtringen was also competitive and fielded three teams in the U13 and U15 categories. However, the Gärtringen teams were unable to win a title, which makes the Weilmer duo's triumph all the more remarkable.
The path to the final
On May 24, 2025, Marlon and Neo competed in the decisive game in the Weilmer cycling hall. Up to this point they were undefeated the entire season. However, their opening match against Gärtringen, represented by Elias Stotz and Mats Kopschiwa, was a challenge as they lost 3-5. After this defeat, the Weilem team was under pressure as they had to win every further game to reach the final.
They mastered this challenge impressively and won against Lüblow2 with 10:1, against Klein-Gerau2 with 11:1 and against Bad Sooden-Allendorf1 with 3:0. Before the last game of the preliminary round they were behind Gärtringen on points and absolutely had to win. In the decisive match against the title favorite Ehrenberg1, Ehrenberg put his foot on the gas from the start. But the Weilmers held firm: Marlon scored the first goal and Neo showed exceptional performances by successfully fending off two 4-meter and three corners.
The final against Ehrenberg was ultimately won 1-0, so that Weil and Ehrenberg were able to reach the final of the German U13 Cycling Championships with equal points, which took place on June 14th and 15th. This was a big moment for Marlon and Neo, who appreciated the support of the Böblingen sports district as well as the sponsor Mo's Steakhouse and the Speidel company.
A deserved championship title
In the end, the Weilmer duo triumphed and secured the title. The congratulations go not only to Marlon and Neo, but also to the dedicated coaching team Jürgen Leinich and Marco Cartarius, who supported them throughout the season. Their success is a living example of teamwork, discipline and the joy of sport.
The title win by Marlon Ganz and Neo Cartarius is further proof of the high level of cycling in the region and will certainly inspire many young athletes to practice this fascinating sport.
