Summer, fun and diversity: The international street festival in Sindelfingen!
Next week, Sindelfingen will once again be the venue for the “International Street Festival”. From June 21 to 23, 2024, a diverse program will be offered that celebrates the cultures and traditions of different nations. This tradition has been continued for over 40 years and attracts numerous visitors every year. The festival kicks off on June 20th with a partnership evening in the Sindelfingen town hall, which begins at 6 p.m. and is hosted by Mayor Dr. Bernd Vöhringer is opened. At this event, representatives of the twin cities, which include Corbeil-Essonnes, Chelm, Dronfield, Györ, Eastern Samos, Schaffhausen, Sondrio and Torgau, meet to promote exchange and cooperation.
The official opening of the street festival will take place on June 21st at 7 p.m. on the stage at the market square. The stands of the twin cities present a variety of specialties, drinks, music, dance and folklore. A varied stage program with singing, jazz, rock and folklore will also entertain visitors. The band “RaDiUs” will perform on Friday evening, while the “ROYAL SONESTA JAZZBAND” will provide atmosphere on Saturday and Sunday.

An additional highlight is the public viewing at Wettbachplatz for the UEFA EURO 2024, which will take place from June 14th to July 14th. However, the game between Switzerland and Germany will not be broadcast. On June 23rd, the dismantling of the stands at Wettbachplatz begins at 4 p.m. in order to be prepared in time for the game at 9 p.m.
In order not to disrupt the festival, the streets in the festival area will be completely closed and access to the underground car park on the market square is only possible via the town hall or Wolboldstrasse. A move to Vaihinger Straße is planned for the weekly market on June 22nd. In addition, there will be disruptions to bus traffic during the festival, which will be taken into account by alternative bus stops. Visitors are asked not to bring large bags or backpacks and not to bring alcoholic beverages with them.
