Anniversary festival of the Kolping family Leonberg: 100 years full of community!
On July 1, 2025, the Kolping family Leonberg is facing a special event: she celebrates her 100th birthday under the motto "Together. For each other!" The celebrations begin on Sunday, July 13th, with a church train that leads from the Schlossplatz to the local church at 8:45 a.m. The Kolping Youth and the Haven’s Voice singing club are designing this festive service, which offers a spiritual framework for the anniversary. This is followed by a short pageant through the city, which makes the connection of the community visible.
After the religious celebrations, guests are invited to a secular celebration in the Clemenshaus. The Bacherl musicians take care of the entertainment in the morning, while the host of the Clemenshaus is responsible for culinary meals. In the afternoon the Duo Bierfilzl will play and the Kolping Family offers coffee and cake. Particular attention is paid to the diverse children's offers: a clown, a play by the Kolping Youth, a bouncy castle, face painting and handicrafts will delight the youngest visitors.

The Kolping family Leonberg was founded in 1925 by around 15 members, originally with the aim of supporting craftsmen during their hiking. Today the community comprises over 250 members and offers a wide range of activities for people of all ages. Among other things, religious celebrations, sociable meetings and social actions are organized. In the past 100 years, the Kolping Family has launched numerous campaigns, including cycling, canoeing, tent camp, Rose Monday balls, old clothing collections, theater performances and regular group lessons for children. The foundation of the family group, a cycling group and the choirs (Leonhardi Sänger and Heaven’s Voice) also testify to the lively community that has developed over the years
a legacy by Adolph Kolping
Adolph Kolping, the founder of the Kolping community, played an important role in the social reform movement of the 19th century and was particularly committed to young craftsmen. Today's Kolping families, including those in Leonberg, are pursuing the goal of being a community of paths for humans and Christians who provides responsibility in their area. The spirit of trust in people and God is always emphasized in daily work and the encounters.
Annex of Adolph Kolping, such as "active love heals all wounds, mere words only nourish the pain" and "laughing from a cheerful heart is more worth more than the longest and sharpest sermon", inspire the members and give their community a deeper meaning.
The Kolping family Leonberg looks forward to the upcoming festival with great anticipation and hopes for numerous visitors to celebrate this significant anniversary.
