Job fair in Böblingen: US armed forces are urgently looking for new employees!

On Friday, June 27th, a job fair organized by the US Army Garrison Stuttgart will take place in Böblingen. The event opens its doors from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the “Old Firehouse” at Waldburgstrasse 104. The aim of the fair is to provide job seekers with information about open positions in the civilian environment of the US armed forces. The trade fair is open to the public and is aimed at interested parties from Böblingen, Sindelfingen, Stuttgart and the surrounding region. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak directly with hiring managers and ask questions about advertised positions available in several key sectors, including fire and rescue services, engineering and technical services, and administration and office organization. Further details about the application process are available on the relevant website: portal.chra.army.mil.

The job fair represents not only an excellent opportunity for job seekers, but also a chance for the US armed forces to attract qualified employees for their civilian positions. In addition to the areas mentioned, other key positions in the public service are also offered. This event is particularly important to meet the need for skilled workers in various sectors that support American military locations in the region.

Diverse career opportunities

At the job fair, numerous positions are presented that go far beyond traditional military tasks. The Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) plays an important role here. AAFES, often referred to as "The Exchange", operates retail stores ranging from a large department store to small supermarkets in the tank barracks. This also includes gas stations and convenience stores at Patch Barracks and Kelley Barracks. A new location at Robinson Barracks additionally offers furniture and beverages, highlighting the variety of services and products available.

Job opportunities at AAFES include food service, retail and warehouse positions. It should be particularly emphasized that German citizens and citizens of other EU countries are eligible to apply for most positions, although applicants from non-EU countries require a valid residence and work permit for Germany. The broad career opportunities reflect U.S. troops' desire to integrate local talent while strengthening ties to the region.
