Local bands shine at the German Music Festival in Ulm!
Last weekend the German Music Festival took place in Ulm and Neu-Ulm, with the motto “Music builds bridges!” stood. How Augsburger Allgemeine According to reports, around 15,000 musicians from around 450 groups took part in the event and ensured an unforgettable musical experience.
The Jettingen music club impressed in the highest level with an outstanding result of 94.2 points. The ensemble, led by Christian Weng and consisting of around 60 musicians, presented the self-selected piece “Frenzy” by Thiemo Kraas. This was awarded 97 points by the jury. The jury particularly praised the precision, dynamic diversity and expressive interpretation of the performance.
Successes of the local bands
The Breitenthal music club also celebrated an “outstanding success” in category 5. In addition, the Eintracht Cushiondorf music club received a certificate with the grade “Very good”. The Eintracht Autenried social association was also able to distinguish itself in category 3 with the rating “participated with outstanding success”. Another notable success was achieved by the Deisenhausen music club, which achieved third place at the European Championship of Bohemian-Moravian brass music with 87.6 points.
The German Music Festival, which took place from May 29th to June 1st, 2025, was characterized by a variety of musical contributions and collaborative music-making. The event was not only a celebration of brass music, but also a symbol of the connection between different generations and cultures, as Paul Lehrieder, MP and President of the Federal Association of German Music Associations, emphasized.
A festival full of musical diversity
Over 150 music groups from Germany and neighboring countries had already registered for the festival. Michael Weber, 1st Vice President of the Federal Association, called on all participants to use this special occasion as a musical greeting from the two neighboring cities. The Federal Association of German Music Associations e. V., which represents the largest interest group for instrumental amateur music in Germany, was very satisfied with the event.
