Festive service in Brudersbrunn: Trinity celebrates with us!
On June 22, 2025, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity took place in the Brudersbrunn pilgrimage church. City priest Martin Dengler celebrated the service, which was also the annual service of the Ritterwaldverein. Numerous churchgoers gathered to take part in this festive occasion. The chapel itself is dedicated to the Holy Trinity and attracts numerous pilgrims every year.
The Brudersbrunn Chapel was built on the Frauenberg in 1842 and has a fascinating history. The name “Brudersbrunn” comes from a legend about three brothers who met again at this place after difficult wars. These brothers decided to build a chapel and put the spring in a well to express their gratitude. The pilgrimage to this chapel was initiated by Ambros Roth from Schlag, who fell ill with fever in 1704. He vowed to create a plaque in honor of the Holy Trinity if he recovered from his illness. After his healing, Roth fulfilled his promise, which led to the creation of a pilgrimage that lasted almost 100 years. That reports pnp.de.
The meaning of the chapel
The Brudersbrunn Chapel, which is now a popular place of pilgrimage, is looked after by the local Ritterwaldverein, which takes care of its preservation. Marian devotions take place there every summer, attracting pilgrims and visitors from the surrounding area. The chapel itself can be easily reached via the so-called Trinity Trail, which runs as summer hiking trail No. 2 from the hospital church and is around 4 kilometers long. Alternatively, interested visitors can reach the chapel in just a few minutes' walk from the Schlag district, which is another attractive way to visit this historic place.
